We Can Do It! Rosie Joins the Fight at TogetHER

March 13, 2025

You may notice a new-but-familiar face when you visit our website this month.

As we celebrate both International Women’s Day on March 8th and Women’s History Month throughout the month, we take inspiration from the timeless imagery of “Rosie the Riveter,” a symbol of the significant contributions women made to the United States’ wartime effort on the home front during World War II. Rosie’s fierce determination in the face of uncertainty and challenge feels like an appropriate image to share as we contemplate our own global battle against cervical cancer deaths.

We look forward to using this image throughout the year as a striking reminder to sustain our collective fight against this preventable cancer, and we invite you to do the same. The image has space for you to place your own logo. Please use it and share with others! Together, we CAN do it!

How can you join that fight? Here’s a few suggestions:

1. Talk to your friends, families, and colleagues about the importance of HPV vaccination and cervical screening. HPV vaccines are safe and effective, and routine screening is the first step toward preventing any cervical pre-cancers from advancing to invasive disease. (United States screening guidelines can be found here; World Health Organization guidelines here.)

2. Put pressure on your political leaders to support women’s health programs at home and abroad.  For those of in the United States, here’s a link to where you can find the contact information for your legislator.

3. Support TogetHER and other organizations working to put this cancer in the history books alongside the original Rosie the Riveter. You can donate to TogetHER here

4. Spread the word. Download our template and put your own logo in the space at the bottom to show your support!

The battle for women’s health faces an unprecedented challenge. Join us in our fight to end these preventable deaths.
