#8 – Operation Wipe Out Keeps Growing!

TogetHER and our other Operation Wipe Out partners worked to build awareness of cervical cancer in Alabama and how those in need can access effective prevention. Don’t miss this powerful video featuring cervical cancer advocate Linda Hayes engaging the Chambers County community members to take control of their own cervical health.

#7 – A Call to Scale Up HPV Vaccination for People Living With HIV on World AIDS Day

Aligning global HIV/AIDS and cervical cancer scale-up goals presents an opportunity to take on these interlinked global health crises in tandem. Expanding access to HPV vaccines for people living with HIV represents a critical step toward achieving those goals – and safeguarding millions of lives. On World AIDS Day 2023, TogetHER for Health and AVAC called for evidence-based action to protect this vulnerable population.

#6 – Securing Support for Cervical Cancer Prevention Resources

We partnered with our member organization Pathfinder International and a number of experts and advocates to educate Congressional staffers on the impact of lifesaving United States investments in cervical cancer prevention.

#5 – TogetHER Co-Founds APAC Women’s Cancer Coalition

TogetHER for Health was proud to be a founding member of the APAC Women’s Cancer Coalition to not only play a role in accelerating access to lifesaving cervical cancer prevention in the Asia Pacific region but to ultimately drive regional progress toward the achievement of World Health Organization global targets for breast and cervical cancer. The Coalition commissioned a report from Economist ImpactImpact and opportunity: the case for investing in women’s cancers in Asia Pacific – to lay out the moral as well as the financial case for investment in women’s health.

#4 – TogetHER joins Global HPV Consortium

2023 also saw us join as a founding member of the Global HPV Consortium, organized by the Sabin Vaccine Institute to bring together global actors to accelerate efforts to prevent HPV infection and eliminate cervical cancer as a public health concern.

#3 – TogetHER Releases 5th Annual Analysis of Funding for Cervical Cancer Programs

We launched our fifth annual report summarizing funding for cervical cancer prevention programs in low- and lower middle-income countries. Read our blog from November 17th’s Cervical Cancer Day of Action – or go right to the data.

#2- TogetHER Announces Latest Cervical Cancer Grants Program Awardees

We marked International Women’s Day on March 8th by announcing the two newest recipients of our Cervical Cancer Grants Program: Grounds for Health and Women Together Global! Read our announcement to learn more about the awarded projects, and check out our post discussing Women Together Global’s efforts to get their programs in Malawi back up and running in the wake of a devastating cyclone.

#1- Alabama Launches Statewide Plan to Eliminate Cervical Cancer as a Public Health Threat

Operation Wipe Out’s early efforts were pivotal to the launch of Alabama’s statewide plan to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health threat in May – the first such plan in the United States!
