Voices TogetHER – Spotlight on CureCervicalCancer

27 March 2025

Voices TogetHER is our monthly series shining a light on both people and programs striving tirelessly to inspire, educate and ultimately reach girls and women with information and services to reduce cervical cancer risk among women today, and protect girls in the future.

For March, we’re putting the spotlight on CureCervicalCancer and their groundbreaking Mobile Health for Mamas program in Migori County, Kenya, which TogetHER is proud to support through our Cervical Cancer Grants Program

Few women in Migori County have access to cervical cancer screening and treatment – forcing many to travel long distances to access healthcare, including for cervical cancer prevention. CureCervicalCancer utilizes a mobile clinic approach to bring screening and treatment services to women in hard-to-reach areas. The program uses community health promoters who are trusted by their peers and offers women the option of self-collection for HPV DNA testing, the most accurate means of determining a woman’s long-term risk for cervical cancer.

It’s having a huge impact. Since its launch in October of 2021, the Mobile Health for Mamas program has tested almost 40,000 women, 75% of whom had never been screened before. The program also provided almost 7,500 women with safe, effective treatment for precancerous lesions.

Check out our new video to meet a few of the dedicated health practitioners and advocates making Mobile Health for Mamas possible, as well as women who have benefited from this fantastic program.
